Spalted Maple Wooden

Made from the eastern woods of Canada, spalted Maple spoons are made from one kind of wood. The spalted maple rings are always unique and no two spoons are alike. Carving out of spalted maple is one of my favorite wood to carve from, the maple from spalted maple caves like butter and leave a smooth finish with very little sanding. Sanding inside the bowl is quite difficult so I leave most of the caved lines that also helps give it a unique look.

These Spoons are finished in mineral oil, a tasteless orderless food safe oil.
